Very beautiful color, I think I like the look of the shadows and sunlight playing on the trees. I have a few that are similar to this in my collection of photos. I agree that it is hard to truly capture the sheer beauty of fall color. The harsh sunlight can wash out the color and the clouds tend to tone down that color. I still enjoy trying to get that perfect image of fall.

What a fantastic autumn shot, Evan j!!! The streaking sunlight is the first I have seen in an autumn photo.
I just took a photography class and found out that photographers actually add in the background blue sometimes with a photo editor. I have to learn how to do that.
Our trees have yet to start turning here in TX, but that may be change after this morning. A brisk 42* made for a nice Fall day.
I like the image, it has good saturation and detail, but the water in the foreground leaves me unanchored at the bottom. Maybe that's what you intended, but the foliage feels disconnected between water and sky, not grounded.
A great fall color shot. Not surprisingly, Minnesota's leaf color change is much more advanced than here in the Ozarks.

Thanks Marvin, although most years have seemed marginal compared to the color this season.

Thanks Christy, It is very hard to find a happy medium in the lighting.
ReplyDeleteYou have a great blog that looks like it would be fun to keep up with.

Thanks Nature Nut, it's fun to mess around with photo editors but I try to limit myself to minimal cropping and contrast adjustments.
ReplyDeleteI've found that if I heavily edit a photo and look at it later it's just not the same.

Thanks Drofen, I wanted the mixture of colors to hang there a little, but now that you mentioned it - they might be too unattached.
ReplyDeleteWe've had some perfect weather for fall colors here in Minnesota, can't wait for the snow though.
Oh how I wish I could hope for snow. We get painfully precious little frozen precip down here.
ReplyDeleteDrofen: Last year I visited Arizona during Christmas and somehow the decorations just don't look the same without snow...
