minnehaha falls
This is one of my favorite waterfalls to visit. The carved out limestone behind the waterfall is amazing. Zoom view of the top.
Minnehaha Falls is often times mistranslated as "laughing water," however the correct translation from the Dakota language is "curling water."
The 53-foot falls are part of Minnehaha Creek which is a tributary of the Mississippi River.
The park is full of limestone bluffs and beautiful overlooks.

Beautiful falls, Evan. Great pic!!! Don't you wish you could climb behind them! Do people do that with these falls. :D
ReplyDeleteHugs, JJ
They recently gated off the paths leading underneath the falls.
ReplyDeleteThe reason for this is that there has been a lot of vandalism around the park.
It's sad considering how beautiful this little oasis is.

ReplyDeletethe photos are great!
i also like the layout. it's clean and easy to read :)normally, I wouldn't appreciate black but this one rocks!
cheers!
Thanks sterndal,
ReplyDeleteI was experimenting with backgrounds for nature/art photos and black seemed to go with everything and make the images pop out a little.
